Want to Be Successful?
If you ask ten people “Want to be Successful?” I guarantee, most of them will answer, “Yes”. Who does not want to be successful? Every one of us start with the right mindset, and work on our goals, but through the process, something special happens and majority of us give up and end up failing in our goals. The million dollar question is: If every person or individual or everyone wants to be a successful, then why can’t they all achieve success in their life? Why is it so hard to achieve success in personal and professional life? What are they missing? Is there a secret they all don’t know? Also, how do they know, what is missing?
According to Colin Powell “There are no secrets to success: don’t waste time looking for them. Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty to those for whom you work, and persistence.”
I really like Powell’s point of view, it says very specially, how a person can achieve success in his or her life. In the last ten years, I have read numerous books and listen to many audio books on success, motivation, and leadership. Based on my learning, I have derived a simple mathematic model that can work for anyone who wants to be successful. The formula is very simple; it answers many of our hard questions:
Success = Vision * (Talent + Persistence) * Right Action * Right Association
Vision -> In order to be successful; a person must define a clear vision and purpose in life, without vision – success is impossible. If you don’t know where you are going, how would you know when you reach there? Vision gives clarity and focus; it’s an essential ingredient for success.
According to Proverbs “Where there is no vision, the people perish”
Talent >To achieve success, a person needs to build a unique talent. Skill development is key, and without proper talent and differentiation, its very hard for a person to achieve success. Building talent is quite easy in today’s world thanks to online learning, library, and audio cassettes. Tremendous resources are just a click away.
Persistence-> A person needs to build a good daily discipline and Focus on continual learning, building, and growing attitude. In the journey of success, situations may be tough, but don’t easily give up, just keep going untill you find the desire results. If one door closes, then another will open for you. Even if you are not talented, you can still achieve success by following good disciplines.
Right Action -> Goals without actions is a day dreaming, even if a person has a clear vision and talent but does not take right actions, he would not achieve success in his life. The fight actions will take you one step closer to your goals.

Right Association -> To become a successful person, one needs to build good association or network with talented people, mentors/coaches and partner. In today’s world, many social websites like: [LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, WhatsApp ] enables a person to build a good network in a short time.
To be successful, you have to be able to relate to people; they have to be satisfied with your personality to be able to do business with you and to build a relationship with mutual trust. - George Ross
After understanding the above parameters, you can now scale each parameter from (0 to 100%) and plugin the above success formula and you can mathematically calculate/predicate the % (percentage) of your success.
So, if a person is not achieving success, he will clearly know what parameter in the formula is causing this issue. Is it a vision, talent, persistence, action, or association? Good news is, once you know the formula, you can start working on increasing % of each parameter, which in turns increase % of success. I strongly believe, it is up to us, how successful we want to be? If you really have burning desire to be a successful person, then start working on it. Start believing in yourself and you will be successful.
In summary: define a clear vision, where do you want to see yourself, from a financial prespective, career perspective spiritual perspective and family perspective. Define what talent you have and where you can improve. Build a good daily discipline to learn and grow. Keep taking the right actions on a daily basis. Build an association with others; learn from their success and failures. So, now I have provided you a secret formula for success.
