What is Live Scan fingerprinting?

Live Scan captures fingerprint images electronically instead of with ink and paper. It is commonly used for fingerprint-based background checks for employment, licensing and other authorized purposes.

How much does Live Scan fingerprinting cost?

The service fee is $50. Government, agency or third-party fees may apply separately depending on your request. We accept cash and credit cards.

Do I need an appointment?

Please call 847-350-9034 before visiting to confirm availability. Do not assume walk-in service.

What ID and paperwork do I need?

A current government-issued photo ID, plus any request forms, ORI number, application number or instructions from your employer or agency.

How long does it take?

Digital capture usually takes a few minutes. Your visit may be longer depending on paperwork and fingerprint quality. Background-check processing happens separately at the agency.

When will I get my results?

Processing times depend on the receiving agency and the type of check. We cannot guarantee a processing or result time.

Does this mean I pass a background check?

No. Live Scan captures fingerprint data for an authorized process. The agency performs the check and makes any eligibility or hiring decision.

Do you store my fingerprints?

We do not independently maintain a database of applicant fingerprints. Data is collected for your transaction and submitted. Technology providers and receiving agencies may temporarily process or retain data under their own requirements.

Will my information be used for marketing?

No. We do not use applicant biometric information for marketing, advertising, resale or profiling.

What if I do not have an ORI number or form?

Ask the employer, agency or organization requesting your fingerprints. Incorrect information can delay the process.

Do you offer FD-258 fingerprint cards?

Availability may differ. Please call to confirm before your visit.

Is the fee refundable?

Refund eligibility depends on the service. Ask about cancellation and refund terms before you pay. An agency rejection does not automatically qualify for a refund.
